My very favorite traditions is celebrating Christmas Eve with my husband's family. We bring games and we play games with the kids all evening. The men usually play cards.

My favorite tradition is hunting for a real Christmas tree. I have great memories of doing it with my dad and now with my own children

Sweet candy! Count me in!
Traditions for Christmas is:
Family getting together opening presents and then playing with all the new fun stuff. Before we all set down for dinner we go around the table and everyone has to tell something they are thankful for.
Thanks for a chance.

My favorite family Christmas tradition was going to midnight mass and meeting at my grandma and grandpa's afterwards for Grandma's homemade cinnamon rolls and coffee/milk. With my mom having 6 brothers and 1 sister it was like a mini family reunion and you never knew who would be there! My grandma passed away two xmases ago and we are still adjusting. It just doesn't seem the same now... I have just recently become a grandmother myself so it may be time to invest in a new tradition... :)
Thanks for the walk down memory lane :)
Congrads on your blog milestone...

I think our family has a strange and unique holiday tradition. Every year, shortly before Christmas, we get out the movie "christmas vacation" and watch it together. We have a laugh riot all over again with that silly movie every year and it really puts us all in the holiday mood. Congrats on all your hits and TFS such neat blog candy with your readers!

I love listening to Christmas music. And putting up the tree. I think one of our traditions, which was not intended to be a tradition is going to Disneyland. For the last several years we have driven down to Mexico to be with family and on our way back we stop for a day or two in Disneyland. This year we are not going to Mexico, but probably to Disneyland.

So many to choose from that this is hard because in our family, it's more about all the little things we do together before Christmas. I think maybe Christmas eve when we get together with my sister and her family and my parents and we either go out or order in Chinese food (and have since I was a kid) and have a great meal and then socialize at someone's house after. The kids always get a gift that Santa has amazingly left and it always seems to be new pajamas!

Great blog candy off and thanks for doing this! Fun to see what other people say too!

Cheers,
Colleen

We open up one gift on Christmas eve and try to make it one we have recieved from an out of town relative. That way the kids can distinguish that gift and it means a little more! GREAt candy. Congrats on your milestone!

Congrats on your hits! A small part of our Christmas tradition is letting our son pick out his own ornament. We write the year on the bottom and hang it on the tree. I think it makes the tree extra special and he loves it. We started it when he was born and now he'll be 5yrs old next week. Thanks for the chance to win! ;)

My favorite tradition was Christmas Eve at my grandparents house. We would ALL open our presents, showing everyone what we got, oohing and aahing over all the gifts, THEN it was all out WAR! LOL While opening our gifts, we'd stash our paper and at the end we'd have a paper fight! LOL The best memory was the year someone hit my grandfather (picture an ex-marine, VERY gruff) right in the head! EVERYTHING stopped.....until he laughed and threw it RIGHT back at someone else! :D Unfortunately, he's passed away now, but I LOVE that memory!

It is hard because I live away from family now and am learning how to make my own traditions, but my favorite tradition with my family is making a ton of different kinds of Christmas cookies and then making up plates and giving them out to neighbors and friends.

When I was a kid, it was a family tradition to go downtown the the neighboring big city and see Santa, shop at particular stores, and see the amazing animated store displays.

Another favorite is mass on Christmas Eve. There's nothing like the warm feelings I get from traditional hymns and hopefully a sprinkling of snow on that magical night.

Cute candy! My favorite is when the family gets together Christmas eve and one of the family members dresses up as santa for the little kids. It is so cute and so much fun. We sing and open presents and have a wonderful time!

My favorite tradition is baking cookies to decorate and share with neighbors and friends. It makes everyone smile to receive something homemade, and who doesn't like cookies??

Thanks for the chance! Congrats on your hits.

Favorite Christmas Tradition... Well, I am not sure about that, Christmas in General has always been the best, but I must admit that spending christmas with the family is the real tradition that I just love. Just being with the family. We do not really have a tradition, perse, just spending time together ;-) Thanks!

I love hanging out with my family really.. not really a tradition, but it's what Christmas should be about! On Christmas eve the kids all open one gift from each other and hang out.. I love it! :)

Favorite Christmas Tradition was started by my dad when we were little. Every Christmas Eve before bed we put out the nativity and someone reads the Christmas story from one of the Gospels. It is one of the few traditions we ALWAYS include each year regardless of where we are.

Congrats on the 1000 hits! 1000 virtual hugs!

I have so many to choose from, but one of my favorite Christmas traditions is hosting a cookie exchange with family and friends! We always get together on a Sunday afternoon a week or so before Christmas day. That Saturday before is spent doing all my major holiday cooking and baking!
Last year, I found the funniest game ever!!! Taking a pair of pantyhose, some balloons, and yarn and a bow, teams of three have to use those items to make their "reindeer"! LOL, it was a hoot! Yep, the cookie exchanges are certainly a tradition of togetherness, yummies, and fun!!!

the only thing I do every christmas is write out donations to various charities. I really dont celebrate the holidays anymore. Too much drama for me.

I don't have a large family and my children are young so our traditions are just beginning. We have been finding the girls fun pajamas and letting them open them on Christmas eve. They look so cute in the morning for Christmas day pictures.

My favorite Christmas tradtion would be when we open stockings as I always put fun and silly things in and we have each person remove one item at a time and we just laugh and the family feeling is so nice! Love it.

Congrats on passing 1,000 well deserved hits! Our family tradition is getting together to make our families Italian fried cookies (Scaletti) every year. Our grandmother has now gone to live with the Lord...but my mother, my daughter, granddaughter, and myself are carrying on with the tradition & will be making them together again this year.

Every year, Lee and I make a Gingerbread house. We started this the first year we were married. We haven't done it with kids yet, but hopefully this is the year we start!

What incredible blog candy! You're so generous! I'd have to say my favorite family tradition is the stockings. My entire family (parents, siblings, spouses and all) gather together for Christmas every year. The adults draw names for each others' stockings and then on Christmas Eve, we all go to Target together and shop for one another. It's so fun hiding behind racks and shelves from the person you're shopping for! :) Love it!

My favortie Christmas tradition is snuggling up with my hubbie and daughter on Christmas Eve and watching "The Grinch" (Jim Carey) and "The Muppets Christmas Carol". We usually participate in the Christmas Eve services at our church, then we come home, watch the movies, drink hot chocolate or cider, eat Christmas goodies, and then open our Christmas stockings. (Because Santa has come while we were at church, don't you know.)

Hi Amy!
( I hope this doesn't post twice, but I don't think the first one took )

Contratulations on 1000! That didn't take so long, did it :)

I have been enjoying your Christmas cards. They are some of the prettiest I have seen this year.

Thank you for offering a chance to win that awesome prize package! Please count me in.

My favorite "new" Christmas tradition is our Christmas Stamp Club meeting. These are my best friends...it is such fun to share a special holiday party with them.

My fav family tradition as a child used to be getting a real tree with real candles on them. It really feels like Christmas and I plan on doing it with my family when my girls are a bit older too. Congratulations on your hits and thanks for a chance of winning some great candy.

On Christmas eve we have a buffet style supper of hors d'oeuvres. We sit in the living room around the fireplace, the lights twinkling on the Christmas tree [always a real one],and our favourite Christmas music on [all those old LP's].When the kids were young we would play board games until it was time to hang our stockings and be tucked into bed.Merry Christmas!
